  1. Required Courses (10 cr.) (3 cr.)
    1. CSC 119 (1 cr.) Introduction to UNIX/Linux
    2. CSC 217 (3 cr.) Discrete Math with Computer Applications I
      or MAT 231 (3 cr.) Sets, Functions and Relations
    3. CSC 221 (3 cr.) Introduction to Programming
    4. CSC 223 (3 cr.) Data Structures and Algorithms (prereq.: CSC 221 with a grade C or better, and CSC 217.)
  2. Elective Courses (9 cr.)
    Select nine credits from among the following but excluding courses taken for the major and other minors:
    • any 300/400-level CSC courses except CSC497 Computing Practicum and CSC498 Internship
    • at most one course from the following:
      PHY 350 (3 cr.) Circuits and Electronics, without lab (prereq.: MAT225 Calculus II and PHY 112.)
      or PHY 365 (4 cr.) Electronics for Scientists, with lab (prereq.: PHY 112.)
      or PHY 379 (4 cr.) Introduction to Robotics (prereq.: PHY 111, MAT 225 or MAT 202, co- or pre-requisite CSC 221)
  3. Additional Requirements
    1. Only three credits in CSC 310 Perl and CSC 311/312/313 Computer Language can be counted;
    2. Only three credits in CSC 496 Instructional Practicum can be counted;
    3. Overlap restriction: At least 12 out of the required 19 credits must be taken in courses not counted toward student's majors or other minors.
